Why choose us?

Different from other online platforms Blue House Yoga provides an intimate method of teaching to amplify your adherence to your practice. The formula 'practice, wherever you want', is a flawed approach that fosters procrastination, underpay instructors and often it overwhelms students with so many different styles and teachers. The relationship between the practitioner and the instructor is a vital aspect of yoga. Pre-recorded classes and constant change of teacher can discourage progress. We do not offer over 10,000 pre-recorded classes because there's little benefit or rational in large quantities, instead, our sessions are live and the method is progressive.

Members can request a recorded session of their favourite classes if they cannot attend in a specific day, but our focus is on offering real-time interaction to check progress, offer variations and adjustments.

Ashtanga Yoga (I am paused)

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a style of yoga created by K. Pattabhi Jois. The sequence takes the practitioner to immerse in a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga. The pace is energetic and the sequence remains the same (Primary Series). Like in Power Yoga synchronisation of breath with movements is essential. Ashtanga Yoga is the school of yoga responsible for the rise in numerous styles of Power Yoga. This class is adapted to fit a 60 min slot, some asanas are excluded from the sequence yet the format is aimed to be as close as possible from its origins.

 Q. What can I expect in an Ashtanga class?

Practitioners can expect a fast-paced flow. The constant moving combined with Ujjayi (diaphragmatic breath) keeps your body warm, which enables us to get deeper into poses and quieting the mind.

Targets: All body

Good for: Beginners and advanced practitioners who don't mind a bit of discipline and tough love :)

Anyone can practice. Young man can practice. Old man can practice. Very old man can practice. Man who is sick, he can practice. Man who doesn't have strength can practice. Except lazy people; lazy people can't practice Ashtanga yoga.

 Yin Yoga (I am paused)

Yin yoga is a practice that cultivates a deep sense of awareness through the release of mind and body stresses, focusing on releasing the connective tissue of the body (tendons, ligaments, and fascia). Poses are held for extended periods (3-5 min), allowing the student to relax as they express patience and quiet.

Q. What can I expect in a Yin yoga class?

Expect the intensity of a stretch to help you to foster a deep, pervading sense of calm and to learn some principles of psychology while you restore. Classic Yin is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles which believe there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. It helps to open up the body releasing blockages so that energy can flow freely.

Targets: The deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones

Good for: Meditative states, conscious breathing, unwinding, relaxing.
